| 18 | Reclaim! The Power of the Shinigami |
| It’s the last day of school before summer vacation, and while the rest of the students in Ichigo’s class are discussing their plans for the summer, Ichigo is preparing to begin training with Urahara to enter the Soul Society and save Rukia. Under Yoruichi’s guidance, Chad and Orihime begin their own training in order to learn to use the new powers awakening in them. | |
| 19 | Ichigo Becomes a Hollow! |
| Rukia learns that in twenty-five days, she’ll be taken to the Central Execution Grounds to face her punishment. Ichigo, Chad and Orihime continue their training, each struggling to become comfortable with accessing and controlling their spiritual powers. By the end of Ichigo’s near-death experience during Lesson two of his training, he successfully rebounds as a Soul Reaper. | |
| 20 | Ichimaru Gin's Shadow |
| Ichigo completes Lesson three of Urahara’s training and learns the name of his zanpaku-to. He is granted some rest time before receiving a startling call for a meeting at Urahara’s shop. At Urahara’s Shop, Ichigo learns that Chad, Orihime and Uryu have also been training for the journey to the Soul Society and he meets Yoruichi, a black cat with spiritual powers. Urahara introduces them to the Reishi Hankan-ki, the Spirit Conversion Machine, that will allow them to collectively pass through to the Soul Society as spirits. | |
